OEM Tuscani Front Strut Bar Install

OEM Tuscani Front Strut Bar Install
by Silent Wolf

This DIY will show you how to go about installing the Tuscani bar. For those that don't know "Tuscani" is the Korean Tiburon. Note: I ordered this bar from Kspec. Took over a month to get to me with no bolts! No replies from them either on whether or not bolts are supposed to be with it.

The Project

Here's the strut bar:

Here's the codes on the bar and brackets:

Note: I had to get four M10 1.25 x 20mm bolts for the bar and bracket connections (bolts cannot be longer than 20mm) and four 10mm washers (got them at Lowes).

Cruise control relocation process...

3 bolts hold the CC on to the strut tower (2 above and 1 down below).

You will then need to remove the 4 small-med size phillips head screws holding the whole bracket assembly onto the CC module (DO NOT LOSE ANY SCREWS!)

Also, the two rubber washers on the top part of the bracket will need to be removed for later use by punching out the metal ring/cylinder inside the washers and then squeezing the washers out thru the gaps in the sides of the bracket.

Now for the hard part...

Dimensions for the cardboard template are as follow (length follows the width of the car while width follows the length)
5-5/8" length
5" width
3-3/4" width on side to the dog ear
2-1/4" for the dog ear itself
4" length on side to the dog ear
Note: To make holes use a punch or ice pick

Cut out the metal...

I used 16 gauge stainless steel, hacksaw, and drill (I don't know the drill sizes I used for making the holes. I just did a visual for drill bit to screw size)

CC module reattach

To reattach CC module use the 4 screws that held it to the original bracket.

At the same time you turn the CC module over to attach, disconnect the cable to the throttle body to allow it to pivot freely as you turn the module over, and then reattach to throttle body once turned over.

Use the two rubber washers you pulled out, put the bracket for the bar down and then bolt the new CC bracket into the old bracket holes. (rubber washers cushion the bolts and take some space since the top part of those bolts are not threaded).

Now you're ready to attach your brackets and bar (one will already be down since part of it lies a bit underneath the one rubber washer). Brackets are easy to figure out how to put on using existing strut tower bolts and nuts. Make sure they are bolted on good, then take the bar and the four M10 bolts plus washers (assuming bolts didn't come with your bar and brackets) and attach.
