| APC Euro Blades |
I can see clearly now!
I'm not going to sugar coat this one folks, the stock GT wiper blades stink. I realize
that Hyundai had to scrimp on something to sell the GT for under 15 G's but this is ridiculous. My car's wipers started
streaking within the first month! The rubber used is just way to thin and brittle. Thankfully, there are many easy upgrades
on this one, both functionally and cosmetically. And while it's cheaper just to getter better quality refills, go ahead and
replace the entire blade. Keep it mind the GT has unequal size wiper blades; 20" on the drivers side, 18" on the passenger
side and 20" for the rear wiper!
One of the most interesting options out there are the PIAA Super Silicone Blades.
They basically coat your windshield with a layer of silicone which allows the rain to bead. By doing so the rain
is removed by running the wipers at lower speeds. These blades also glide super smoothly and all but eliminate that "chattering"
sound. They are available in matte black and a super good looking carbon fiber finish. You can order them from Autobarn. Another high quality, less expensive alternative are Bosch Micro Edge wiper blades.
Those looking for a way to trick our their windshield area should consider APC Euro
Blades. They feature either black or chromed aluminum wiper arms and come with red, yellow and blue blades. Also
available are the APC Euro Glo blades that feature luminescent blades that "glow" at night. Order them here.
