ARMREST COVERING DIY

TOOLS NEEDED
Phillips Screwdriver
Scissors
Knife or razor blade
Spray glue
Masking tape

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remover door panel. Remove the screw holding the inside door handle trim.

2. Remove the screws holding the door trim panel.
 
3. Insert a trim panel remover between the trim fasteners and the door trim panel to pry off.
 
Disconnect the wire connectors from the front door.

4. Remove the screws from the back of the panel that attach the armrest and remove the armrest from the panel.
 
5. Mask off the face of the armrest to prevent glue over-spray.
 
6. Spray a generous amount of glue on the underneath of the armrest.

7. Spray a lighter amount of glue on the back of the new fabric concentrating on the edges.
 
8. Let stand for 10 minutes to tack up
 
9. Spray a light coat over all the areas again
 
10. Center armrest on fabric facedown and attach.

11. Trim of excess and reinstall
 
NOTE:  Be sure to work the fabric from the center to the corners.  Working towards the corners will help prevent wrinkles.  Stretch the fabric tight but do not over stretch.
 
Also, this is a perfect time to install new 6 ½" front speakers.
