Custom Ground Wires

Ground Wire Kits

groundwirekit.jpg

So what is this mod all about? Simple really. Cars that are highly tuned or with high wattage sound systems put a substantial drain on a car's electrical system. Stock grounds have a high resistance which can limit the electrical system efficiency. Aftermarket ground wire kits generally use 99.99% pure copper wire which greatly improves electrical flow and lessens the chance of power loss.

These kits provides a direct ground path from battery negative to body, chassis, and engine components to give an extreme improvement on electrical circulation. This can translate into reduced audio noise, brighter lights and even improved idling, throttle response and gas mileage. It certainly is an interesting mod to consider whether your GT is heavily modded or bone stock.

Shark Racing has a basic wire kit available for about $85. Another more expensive kit is available from EAutoWorks. For a really economical alternative, you can make your own ground kit. GT Club member JPJR has written an excellent, easy to follow DIY!
