Easy Dashboard Removal
by kmr327 (difficulty level: easy)
Hey, it's kmr327, and here's a DIY for you. This one is for all of you that want to do aftermarket
CD players, gauge painting, dash painting, anything you want that involves removal of the dash.
- Remove ashtray
- Remove the two screws behind the ashtray and the two facing up, in front of the
gauges
- Starting at the bottom where the ashtray is, gently pull until clips begin to
pop off
- Pull until all clips around the dash piece are out.
- Put steering wheel all the way down and lock there for now
- Remove plugs going into the dimmer switch, clock, caution lights, and any other
instrument in those areas.
- DOES NOT require removal of cigarette lighter, or removal of the plug, just leave
it alone.
- Take the left side of the dash and carefully flip it over the steering wheel
- It should easily be able to go over the wheel and just lay in the passenger seat.
- Now you have access to the radio, the gauges, anything you can think of that you
would to get behind there for.
I hoped this helped you out, you can now put in custom CD players without having to send it to some
guy and pay too much money for him to do it.
